The Australian Federal Election has been announced for 21 August 2010

Postal Votes
Postal Vote Applications (PVAs) must be received by the Australian High Commission in Honiara by 4:30PM on Thursday 19 August 2010 (local time). Any PVAs received after this time will be invalid.
Once the High Commission has received your valid PVA, a Postal Vote Certificate (PVC) and ballot papers for your electorate will be sent to the address you have provided. For postal votes to be valid, they must arrive back at the High Commission on or before polling day, or be postmarked before polling day. It is recommended that you send your PVA as early as possible, to ensure you receive you ballot papers in time for you to return them to the High Commission.

Pre-post Polling
Australian citizens in Solomon Islands may lodge a pre-poll vote at the Australian High Commission (Cnr Hibiscus Avenue and Mud Alley, Honiara, Solomon Islands). This service will be open to from Monday 9 August until Friday 20 August. On these days, the pre-polling function will be available:
Monday to Friday
09:00AM to 12:00PM (local time)
1:00PM to 04:30PM (local time)
Pre-poll votes can also be made on the day of the election, Saturday 21 August, between 09:00AM to 05:00PM (local time). No pre-poll voting will occur after this time.
